The Cube

The Cube is a new commercial building on an important retail street in Edinburgh. KSLD were asked to design the night-time identity lighting to provide a clear and unique scheme that would compliment the architectural language of the building and make it stand out from other developments in the city centre. Colour-change lighting highlights the major architectural surfaces in the 5-storey atrium which add depth and intense colour to this space after dark. Other integral lighting elements develop the timber louvers behind the glass facade and roof-top dormers to balance the atrium. Colour selection was critical in order to portray warm and openness yet still be vibrant and energetic.
